What is Atendy?

Atendy is a virtual event platform. We make it easy for event organisers to create their event’s website and online Membership experience.

We have a partner company that does big corporate events, like conferences and trade shows, and we make and automate the websites for these events. Then the pandemic hit, all those events stopped, and everyone transitioned into virtual.

Why did you choose Memberstack for your event Memberships?

There were a lot of options out there, but there wasn't any super customisable option.

The biggest problem was gating content. You can't have a paid application without being able to gate the content. We started off really basic; you pay for it, and now you’re in. Then we were able to offer all sorts of different levels of registration, which, you know, is technically levels of membership. That's the biggest game changer.

Within the last six months, we started to utilise the metadata and really build out custom profiles for each user, so members are getting a really personalised user experience.

So, you know, welcoming with their name, showing their headshots, being able to filter groups based on information they've answered during the registration process while filling out the profile, et cetera.

How did you solve authentication & member logins before using Memberstack?

We used Firebase for the first iteration. A lot of more hoops to jump through with authentication. And then as far as displaying all the profile stuff, you would've had to double the database for the host, all the, the attendees in some sort of collection on either Airtable of Webflow.

A major headache for sure.

What tools do you use?

Webflow is the front end. We are running a headless CMS with Airtable, and then Zapier to connect all those.

What excites you most about Memberstack?

It's been very fun to watch Memberstack grow as a company over the last year. You guys are constantly evolving the product and making it better, and being really receptive to feedback from the community is huge.

I’m excited to see where you guys go, because the more doors you open, the more doors we can walk through.

You're starting to realise you’re being a part of a big community. It's great. Every time you guys release something like a new template or a feature, it expands what we're able to do.

If you could give your younger self one piece of advice, what would it be?

I would probably tell myself that not every single piece of the user interface needs to be custom built for every event. I would also remind myself to utilise Memberstack’s forms for creating profiles.
