Who you are, what does your project do, and why did you build it?

I'm the Co-Founder of THE GOODS Magazine. A media platform that explores the intersection of brand strategy, marketing insights and out-of-office preferences for executive leaders in the brand marketing habitat. After existing in print for several years, we decided to take THE GOODS online to feature more creativity and spotlight lots more perspectives.

What problems did Memberstack help you to solve?

Gating premium content for those who are invested in being a part of our community was the number one problem Memberstack solved for us. If Memberstack didn't exist, I honestly don't know what I would have done to create a work around.

What are your favourite things about Memberstack? Why are those your favourites?

I'm a very creative person, but I know only the very basics of coding. So, as an entrepreneur who loves all things design, Webflow and Memberstack were the perfect match for me.

Memberstack has allowed me to create an entire ecosystem for our THE GOODS+ community to exist and explore. One thing I love about Memberstack is once you get to know the basics, everything else becomes second nature - like learning to drive. Secondly, the customer service is out of this world. If every tech company treated their customers how Memberstack did, I think everyone would be a lot more loyal.

How I built this...

I initially created a site in Webflow, from a template and modified it to fit our aesthetic and subscriber preferences.

We wanted it to be as clean as possible, and for the content to stand out from first impressions from the homepage to reading longer-form articles. After creating the sub-sections, and filling the CMS with our content, and heavily investing time in SEO, I moved onto configuring Memberstack and gating what we needed to gate.

Although there were lots of tutorials - official and unofficial - I felt most comfortable trying out different things and playing around to see what was possible.

Once this was completed, I tweaked the homepage that paying subscribers to THE GOODS+ would see upon logging in and elevated the copy to fit the tone of voice of the entire set.

As I was creating all assets, copy and SEO I was able to get this done quickly without running through a copywriter. I also opted for making sure contact pages linked to Flodesk for our newsletter subscribers.
