About This Case Study

Learn how publisher of a trio of websites uses Memberstack as their membership management service that helps organize readers into three categories: anonymous users, unpaid members and paid subscribers.

Who you are, what does your project do, and why did you build it?

I'm the publisher at Remodelista, LLC. We have three websites: remodelista.com, gardenista.com and organized-home.com. We previously had an open policy regarding visitors with no paywall or other membership tools. We wanted to add a paid subscription level, and also give unpaid members a reason to create an account to access our email newsletters, forums, and bookmarks feature.

What problems did Memberstack help you to solve?

As publisher of a trio of websites, remodelista.com, gardenista.com and organized-home.com, we sought a membership management service that could help us organize our readers into three categories: anonymous users, unpaid members and paid subscribers.

What are your favourite things about Memberstack? Why are those your favourites?

We switched to Memberstack because our previous subscription management partner was not meeting our needs and was getting expensive. Transitioning to Memberstack was relatively straightforward and we had reliable support from the MS team. Since then, we have been very satisfied, and work with the team to develop and test new features.

How I built this...

Our sites are built using a custom version of Wordpress. The Memberstack system integrates with our code across all three sites. We also use a number of plug-ins on Wordpress. We look forward to using new features as they become available.
